Jaxon enjoying his cherry Fruit Vines Bites

My family loves sweets (ok, I love sweets too) and the first thing we ripped into was the bag of Cherry Fruit Vines Bites. You're probably familiar with fruit vines red licorice. These are little bite sized versions of it. They are soft and chewy and simply delicious. I just wish that the bag was bigger. But then again, they are dangerous to have around because they are so addicting. At least they are low fat and have no preservatives.

McCormick Gourmet Thyme

The next thing I tried was this bottle of Thyme from McCormick Gourmet. I'm not a great cook, heck I don't even like to cook. But I so like to eat healthy. So heavy sauces or fried foods are not a staple of my diet. I eat chicken several times a week and it gets really boring. So I was looking forward to trying out some Thyme on my chicken. I coated the chicken with olive oil and sprinkled the Thyme on top. It was really delicious! The flavor had an earthy taste and aroma. I now plan to use it on other meats like pork and steak.

Now onto my favorite stuff - the makeup. Yay! And what better time to try out the Frosty VoxBox than our annual Christmas Eve family gathering.

The best part - free makeup!
First up, was the Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner in black. I normally use liquid pen eyeliner because I love the winged cat eye look and I need a line that is really precise. So the first thing I noticed about this eyeliner was that it was a bit blunt upon opening. But I was too lazy to look for a sharpener so I used it right after opening. It didn't glide on very smoothly, and I would say it is comparable to any typical black pencil eyeliner that you could get from Wet N' Wild. On the plus side, it is waterproof so it's great for those who like to wear pencil eyeliner and sappy movies.

Getting ready for family festivities

Up next was the NYC Expert Last Lip Color in Sugar Plum. I started out by lining my lips with a nude liner and then filling it in with the lipstick. The color is a very nice neutral with a hint of frost. It lasted a really long time too. For the retail price of only $1.99, I would say it's a winner and a great option for beauty on a budget.

I finished off the look with the EcoTools Sleek & Shine Hair Brush. This brush features 5 varied levels of bristles and the open paddle design allows for faster drying time. I have super thick, coarse and frizzy, damaged hair, so for me the bristles weren't quite long enough to get through my mane. Also it created a bit of static, which is common with any kind of hair brush when living in the dry climate of Arizona. But as for me, I think I will stick with my rigid vent brush, which works the best on my unruly locks.

Rimmel Makeup Remover

At the end of the night, I removed my makeup with Rimmel Gentle Eye Makeup Remover. It is non greasy and removes waterproof makeup with no residue. I had to work at it a little longer than with oil based makeup removers, but it did not leave any film on my face or create any of those awful halos I get after I take off my eye makeup. You know what I'm talking about! And it rinsed off cleanly when I washed my face.

Boots No7 Serum
Then I finished the regimen with the sample of Boots No7 Protect and Perfect ADVANCED Serum. It is supposed to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in 2 weeks time. The texture is smooth and silky and it glided over my face like butter. It didn't leave any heavy or sticky feel over my skin and I really liked it. I just wish there was enough sample to try for the full 2 weeks it takes to notice the results. At $29.99 retail, that is a little pricey for me if I am not convinced of the results.
